Sumo wrestling is a part of the Shinto religion. When it first started it was to make sure things grew well. Since Japan is mainly non Christian they use the event to give presents. The parents buy their kids presents but the kids don't give presents to the adults.
Japan has children's day on the 5th of january. In thir restaurants they have modlels to tell the people what there food is. Learning about their culture has been the most interesting for me. I have stopped in japan on my way to England but I only stayed in the airport. I would love to vist one day to see their restraurants and mountains. Sarah L

The most interesting thing to me is the buildings because they are designed especially for earthquakes and typhoons. I would like to go to Japan because they have lots of gardens and festivals.
japan is a long narrow country made up of mountains and islands. most japanese people live in high rise apartments because there are so many people in japan and the buildings are made speicially so if there is a typhoon or an earthquake there is a better chance of the buildings not to colapse and more people to survive.I would like to visit japan to eat some of their diffrent foods and see all of the diffrent things that they have and we do not.
